Fall Semester 2026 (115-1) Doctoral Qualifying Examination
According to Article 2 of the Department’s Regulations for the Doctoral Qualifying Examination, doctoral students are required to pass the qualifying examination within three years of admission. Students who fail to complete the qualifying examination within the prescribed period and number of attempts will be reported to the Registration Division for compulsory withdrawal from the program.
Students who wish to apply for the Doctoral Qualifying Examination this semester are required to submit the application form (see attachment below), transcripts of academic records, and supporting documents (e.g., journal publications, professional engineer licenses, etc.) to Ms. Weng at the Department Office by Wednesday, September 30.
The Doctoral Qualifying Examination is tentatively scheduled for Friday, October 30. Detailed information regarding the examination will be announced once the arrangements are confirmed.
The Department’s doctoral program is divided into five academic groups. Please refer to the Regulations for the Doctoral Qualifying Examination applicable to your year of admission for the list of examination subjects available for each academic group.
