Transportation infrastructure is a major public works project, a driving force of civil engineering, and closely related to daily life, as evidenced by the fact that many of the major public works projects promoted by the government in recent years fall under the category of transportation construction. The Transportation Engineering Division of the Department of Civil Engineering at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) is one of the oldest transportation engineering research teams in Taiwan. Established in 1943, it has cultivated countless talents in transportation construction over more than half a century and has continued to grow into its current size. NCKU's Civil Engineering Department boasts an excellent tradition and a glorious record, and the Transportation Engineering Division possesses a strong teaching and research team and a forward-looking and ambitious vision.
