Asphalt Materials Laboratory

In 1953, our university collaborated with Purdue University in the United States, and the Department of Civil Engineering established a Materials Testing Laboratory. At that time, Purdue University provided several instruments for testing the basic physical properties of asphalt. Subsequently, due to transportation construction being a key government economic undertaking, flexible pavement was widely adopted in highway construction. Therefore, our department established an Asphalt Materials Testing Laboratory in 1967. The Asphalt Materials Testing Laboratory provides experimental teaching and academic research opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students. In addition to continuously purchasing new equipment, we have also designed various testing instruments to support research projects. The main testing equipment in this laboratory includes:
