Engineering Education Certification

The Department of Civil Engineering at National Cheng Kung University has obtained Engineering and Technology Education Accreditation (IEET) for its three programs: Bachelor's, Master's, Doctoral, and Master's Specialized Programs. IEET, established in 2003 and a member of the Washington Accord (an international engineering education accreditation agreement) in 2007, is a non-governmental, for-profit academic organization and a professional accreditation body recognized by the Ministry of Education. Its main business is planning and implementing internationally standardized accreditations for Engineering Education (EAC), Computer Education (CAC), Technical Education (TAC), Architecture Education (AAC), and Design Education (DAC).

Our department was first accredited by IEET in the 1995 academic year. The department passed its second-cycle accreditation in the 2012 academic year and its third-cycle accreditation in the 2018 academic year. With a forward-looking and progressive approach, the department's curriculum incorporates contemporary trends, societal needs, university resources, faculty strength, and the core competencies and principles outlined in EAC2024, continuously improving its mechanisms. In the future, the department will continue to refine its implementation as needed to align with societal advancements and the spirit of continuous improvement in international engineering and technology education.

The accreditation status of each program in our department is as follows:
